Kora as an excellent opportunity to promote the rich variety of
African music, both within the African continent and the
Diaspora.

the attention of Kora Awards by Ramiro “Dr. Ra” Mendes,
CEO of MB Artist Management, during the artist’s recent
tour to Angola with romantic Latin star, Julio Iglesias.
Suzanna Lubrano and MB Artist
Management (MBAM) would like to thank its sponsors to the Kora
Awards, including South African Airways (Cape Verde), TACV Cape
Verde Airlines, Radio Television of Cape Verde, TAP Air

Suzanna – The “Pop
Diva” of Cabo Verde and Lusophone Africa
Widely recognized as the “Pop
Diva” of Cape Verde, Suzanna Lubrano was born at Cape Verdean
Islands and moved to The Netherlands, with her parents when she
was four year old. She started to sing when she was still a
young child, but picked up singing professionally at eighteen.
She made her professional singing debut with the popular Cape
Verdean band “Os Rabelados” (The Rebels). Together with
Rabelados, she recorded her first successful album.
In the meantime, Suzanna started
her solo career with King Records, resulting in three solo
albums to date. Her debut solo album “Sem Bó Nes Mund” (Without
You in This World) was followed by a successful second album,
titled “Fofó” (“Cute”) and the latest mega hit release, “Tudo Pa
Bo” in 2002.
Suzanna is currently one of the
most demanded Cape Verdean female singers within the
Afro-Portuguese community world wide. She has performed live
throughout Europe, including France, Luxembourg, Spain,
Portugal, Italy, Germany, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and
Switzerland. She has also performed on stage in the United
States, Angola, Senegal, Mozambique, and in her home countries
The Netherlands and Cape Verdean Islands, drawing large
audiences wherever she goes.
Suzanna's music can be best
described as a mix of Cape Verdean pop Coladera, Zouk and R&B.
Most of her songs are in Cape Verdean Creole, which is closely
related to the Portuguese language. Suzanna is on her best in
calm and sentimental songs. She admires artists such as Laura
Fabian, Aaliyah, Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton.
With the winning of the Kora
Awards and the consolidation of her audiences in Africa,
Suzanna is now ready for the world!
